No More Fear!
"For you did not receive the spirit of slavery leading again to fear, but you received the Spirit of adoption, by whom we cry, 'Abba, Father.' The Spirit himself bears witness to our spirit that we are God’s children (Romans 8:14 – 16).”
When you look around, there is so much confusion and fear. The new Delta variant of COVID-19 has stormed in and brought us back to questioning whether we needed to go back to lock-down and masks. Afghanistan is in turmoil with US Citizens trapped attempting to flee back to the US. The news is depressing with these stories and more. Again, we must deal with the emotions of fear and depression when we were just gaining some strength with vaccines and the reductions of Covid-19 cases. It just seems like Satan is working overtime now. But God!
As Christians, we turn back to God before we let others tell us how to feel or take away our security, sense of belonging and joy. We are children of God, who trust He is with us and can keep us safe! We can trust that our God is with us and loves us no matter what is going on around us (Romans 8:35-39)! Through Jesus we have victory! We win, even in death because we will then be with God in heaven at that point (1 Corinthians 15:54-57)! Fear keeps us from trusting in God as we forget what He can do and what He has done for us. Our God is bigger than any problem in this world!
It is time for us to return to our faith and begin worshipping God to bring the joy back! Remember what God has done for you and be thankful! Let’s worship our King who created the Universe and is still in control despite what we see around us:
Equity and justice are the foundation of your throne. Loyal love and faithfulness characterize your rule. How blessed are the people who worship you! O Lord, they experience your favor. They rejoice in your name all day long, and are vindicated by your justice. (Psalm 89:14-16)
May you find things to be grateful for as you turn to our faith in God. As His children, through the redemption of Jesus, we find victory. The Holy Spirit bears witness for us. So, stir up the Holy Spirit inside of you with worship, thanksgiving and reading the Word! Let’s leave the fear on the altar in our prayers and take om the spirit of a warrior – our God can do amazing things beyond our understanding, so let Him!
