Trust in God During Times of Trouble

We have been quarantined to work from home and when we leave our homes, we are constantly reminded to keep a safe distance from others – “social distancing.” The Covid-19 virus has taken over our lives and brought all countries around the world to a halt! Who would have thought a great pandemic would alter our lives so quickly? In times of trouble, we must remember that God is still in control (Prov 19:21 and Rom 8:28) and we do not need to fear (2 Tim 1:7, 1 Jn 4:18, and Psalm 34:4). We can trust in the Lord during these

times of trouble – He will protect us, care for us and even heal us if we get sick. We have something the World may not as they worry, faith and trust in the almighty God who created us for a purpose!

Trust in the Lord with all your heart.

And lean not on your own understanding;

In all your ways acknowledge Him.

And He shall direct your paths.

Do not be wise I your own eyes:

Fear the Lord and depart from evil.

It will be health to your flesh,

And strength to your bones (Prov 3:5-8).

This is an opportunity for God to receive the glory as churches and many faithful Christians gather round to support neighbors and help however is needed. We already see many Christian organizations helping with the virus needs sending supplies to the hospitals and various states. Many people and churches are providing food to those who cannot go out and shop. This is an opportunity for us to pray for our nation, family, friends and neighbors as well as allowing God’s light to shine through us (Matt 5:14 – 16)! We do not need to fear, we can trust God!

So, you are working from home or perhaps at home without a job – take the time to enjoy your family. Do some much needed chores and other things at home you could not do before. Make good use of this time off and do not forget to spend time with God! May He reveal Himself to us in greater ways as we seek Him during this trying time!
