High Hopes

He replied, "If you have faith as small as a mustard seed, you can say to this mulberry tree, 'Be uprooted and planted in the sea,' and it will obey you." - Luke 17:6

It is time to raise our expectations! It is like the self-fulfilling prophecy when we speak negative things or like Murphy's law where we expect bad things to happen and they do...we bring the umbrella so it will not rain!

People tend to live up to the expectations we have of them. If we raise the standard, they will work towards it. So why do we lower our expectations for our future? Is it to keep from being disappointed when what we want to happen does not? Does this keep us grounded? I know it keeps us from looking for God to do a miracle in our circumstances. So when He doesn't, we are not surprised. And yet, this is living without faith - we are focused on sight and what we see happening around us - depressing...

I realized it is time to believe God for miracles in my own life! I can believe for other people and pray with belief for them...but do I believe God can do these things for me? Yes, but do I believe He will? I am tired of living in doubt and denial...it is time to raise my expectations and see what God will do!
